Our dynamic logistics hub in Houston, Texas, is looking for a certified and experienced Forklift Operator. In this critical role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise safely and efficiently. Your expertise is vital to ensuring the smooth flow of materials within our warehouse and supporting our overall logistics operations. The ideal candidate is highly skilled, safety-focused, and possesses excellent situational awareness. We demand strict adherence to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to ensure a secure working environment for everyone.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to transport materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload shipments from trucks, trailers, and containers with precision and care.
- Move materials to and from storage areas, production areas, and shipping docks.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts and report any defects or required maintenance.
- Stack and arrange merchandise in a safe and organized manner.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and put-aways.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure efficient logistics operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety regulations and best practices.
- Commitment to consistently wearing and using required PPE.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
