We are seeking a reliable and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our busy Los Angeles, California facility. This role is integral to our outbound logistics , ensuring that all customer orders are processed accurately, packed securely, and shipped in a timely manner. You will be responsible for preparing shipments, verifying order details, managing shipping documentation, and coordinating with carriers. A strong focus on accuracy, organization, and adherence to safety protocols is essential. We provide comprehensive training and the necessary PPE to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare outgoing shipments by selecting appropriate packaging materials.
- Accurately pick and verify items against shipping orders.
- Pack items securely and efficiently to prevent damage during transit.
- Label shipments accurately with all required information, including shipping addresses and tracking numbers.
- Generate shipping labels and complete necessary shipping documentation (e.g., bills of lading).
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for package pickup and delivery schedules.
- Maintain organized and clean shipping areas.
- Track shipments and provide updates as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Wear and properly use all required PPE , such as safety vests and gloves.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts when necessary.
- Contribute to the smooth operation of the warehouse and logistics flow.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations is preferred.
- Proficiency in data entry and computer skills, including experience with shipping software.
- Familiarity with various shipping carriers and their requirements.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and occasional Lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment and documentation.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of warehouse safety standards and the importance of PPE .
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills.
