The role of a Border Patrol Agent is to safeguard America's borders and prevent illegal entry.

Duties include identifying individuals suspected of violating immigration laws, inspecting documents and possessions, maintaining surveillance during night operations using infrared scopes, interpreting physical evidence of illegal entry;
