The Skills Network is seeking experienced and qualified Cyber Security Freelance Distance Learning Assessors to support with the delivery of the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Cyber Security qualification.
This is a remote, home-based role suited to self-employed professionals who can manage their own workload while meeting defined service level agreements (SLAs) and quality standards.
*Role Overview*
You will assess learner work, provide constructive written feedback, and support learner progress in line with The Skills Network’s assessment and feedback framework. You will ensure marking consistency, maintain compliance documentation, and contribute to quality assurance processes.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Effective implementation of The Skills Network assessment, marking and feedback standards ensuring consistency across all Learners * Provide a minimum of 10 hours assessment marking and support to Learners per week * Return feedback within a maximum of 8 days of allocation in line with The Skills Network feedback framework * Carry out guidance and support sessions to help and support Learners’ development and progress where needed * Maintain high quality CPD activity relating to the qualification assessed, and provide required evidence to The Skills Network * Maintain compliance records in relation to role * Attend standardisation sessions remotely or in person every quarter * Support with the delivery of External Services by taking a caseload of Learners for assessment, in line with expected TSN quality standards and SLAs
*Essential Requirements*
* Level 4 qualification in relevant subject area (or equivalent) * Recognised assessing qualification * Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics (or equivalent) * Current or previous experience as an Assessor * Vocational experience and sector-specific CPD * Experience working within relevant industry sectors (including evidence of ongoing CPD) * Strong written and verbal communication skills * IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and database systems * Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines * Enhanced DBS check * Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners
*Desirable Requirements *
* Teaching and Learning qualification * Internal verification or quality assurance qualification * Knowledge of the Ofsted framework and inspection experience * Experience carrying out high-quality internal verification
*Payment*
Each qualification has varied guided learning hours (GLH), which relate to the total expected assessment time. Payment is made per assessed unit and varies depending on whether the unit is start, middle, or final.
