• Enforcing immigration laws by detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating regulations while inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.


• Preventing and apprehending aliens and smugglers of aliens at or near the borders through surveillance from covert positions utilizing various technologies including infrared scopes during night operations.


• Interpreting physical evidence such as tracks, marks, etc., related to illegal entry of persons or contraband.
