As a border protection specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our nation's borders. This career path offers long-term federal law enforcement opportunities where you can make a meaningful impact every day.

1. Identify and question individuals suspected of violating immigration laws.
2. Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near borders through surveillance from covert positions.

You will undergo comprehensive training at U.S. Border Patrol Academy in Artesia NM for six months covering immigration laws, driver training physical techniques firearms courses etc., Spanish language instruction included allowing agents speak read English fluently while also speaking reading Spanish proficiently after academy graduation.
