Business Analyst – Supply Chain & Merchandising (Fixed Term Contract)
Sysco GB (whose UK operating companies include Brakes, Fresh Direct, KFF & Medina) are recruiting for a Business Analyst to join the Technology team on a fixed term contract for minimum 12 months, reporting into the Functional Lead.
As the Business Analyst – Supply Chain & Merchandising, you will be a confident and effective communicator, functioning as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure the successful delivery of IT solutions. This role will involve analysing and understanding business needs, translating them into technical requirements, and documenting test scenarios, scripts, and user outcomes.
This role will be the consistent thread throughout the lifecycle of change, utilising strong analytical skills to take business requirements through to successful delivery of a technical solution into the BAU teams. Whilst not responsible for direct reports, there is an expectation that you will help drive the community of Business Analysts across the functional teams by promoting best practice tools, techniques, and methodologies.
This role is offered on a fixed term contract and may require travel to our sites across Europe. As such, a good degree of self motivation and flexibility is required. The role will reside within the Supply Chain & Merchandising Technology function; however, you may be required to spend time with business stakeholders on site across Europe as projects require, or work across other functional pillars as necessary.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Responsible for gathering, documenting, and interpreting business needs into succinct and concise functional and non‑functional requirements
- Responsible for documenting test scenarios, scripts, and user outcomes
- Ability to document and understand high-level conceptual and contextual design and specifications
- Create process maps, flow diagrams, and supporting documentation to illustrate business processes and user stories
- Key role in communicating between the business and Technology, acting as a translator where necessary
- Facilitate workshops and discussions to gather and prioritise requirements (e.g. MoSCoW)
- Planning and managing small-scale change where needed
- This role will often provide the consistent thread throughout the lifecycle of small–medium change, utilising your strong analytical skill set to take business requirements through to support
- Work horizontally with other Business Analysts to prioritise and collaborate where necessary
- Deliver to internal processes to meet business needs end-to-end
- Ensure personal knowledge and exposure to business change opportunities remains up to date, appropriate, and relevant
About You
To be successful in this role you must have the ability to build strong and long lasting relationships with stakeholders through positive and proactive engagement and have the ability to ask insightful questions to extract the details required from stakeholders. You will possess a high level of attention to detail and be organised, with the ability to present and document information based on the needs of the project.
You’ll have an analytical and inquisitive mindset and think tactically and strategically, presenting options to solve problems. You must also have the ability to support projects in surfacing risks and issues early and suggest mitigation options to resolve. Experience of requirements gathering through direct interaction with business users or in a workshop environment, and the ability to prioritise using recognised techniques such as MoSCoW, is essential.
