Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs a SEND Teacher, you will teach small bespoke class groups of up to 6 pupils, supported by a Teaching Assistant. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering well-structured lessons aligned with the school's curriculum.
- Assessing, monitoring, and reporting on the learning needs and progress of your pupils.
- Adapting teaching methods to cater to the diverse strengths and needs of students.
- Setting high standards that inspire and challenge pupils.
- Promoting positive progress outcomes.
- Demonstrating secure subject knowledge across the curriculum.
- Preparing learners for external tests.
- Teaching across the KS3/KS4 Curriculum and adapting learning for SEND students.
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A relevant degree
- Successful teaching experience, particularly in delivering qualifications up to GCSE
- Experience in Humanities, PE, or vocational subjects is preferred
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies
- Strong understanding of child development and learning
- Ability to build effective relationships with pupils
- Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices
- Effective behavior management strategies
- Good ICT skills to support learning

As part of our hiring process, the successful candidate will need to complete an enhanced DBS Check, which will be covered by Polaris Community.
