We are seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our vibrant team in Nashville, Tennessee. This role is vital to ensuring our products reach customers accurately and efficiently. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for preparing orders for shipment, which includes picking, packing, labeling, and staging goods. You will also be involved in generating shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipping records. Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail are essential for success in this position. You'll be working within our fast-paced Logistics environment, where adherence to established procedures and strict Safety protocols is critical. Proper use of equipment and mandatory PPE will be emphasized and trained. This role requires physical dexterity and the capacity for frequent Lifting of packages, potentially up to 50 lbs. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation for various carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL).
- Verify order accuracy before packaging and dispatch.
- Stage prepared shipments in the designated loading areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping station and warehouse environment.
- Track shipments and update order statuses in the system.
- Communicate with the shipping supervisor and other departments regarding order flow and potential issues.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely (training provided).
- Wear and maintain all required PPE , including safety shoes and gloves.
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety policies and procedures related to shipping and receiving.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, packing, or a related warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using computers and basic software applications.
- Ability to handle physical tasks, including standing for long periods and Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
- Understanding of basic Logistics principles is a plus.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and proper use of PPE .
