Our San Francisco, California location is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our dedicated team. This role is vital to our logistics operations, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately prepared, documented, and dispatched. You will be responsible for managing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and verifying order accuracy to meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate possesses excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and thrives in a busy urban environment. Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate shipping labels, manifests, and other required documentation.
- Coordinate with various shipping partners to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Verify outgoing orders for accuracy against shipping documentation.
- Ensure packages are correctly labeled, packaged, and secured for transit.
- Maintain detailed shipping logs and records.
- Communicate shipment status and any issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE .
- Assist with receiving duties as needed, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Organize and maintain the shipping area for optimal efficiency.
- Monitor and replenish shipping supply inventory.
- Perform tasks that may involve lifting packages up to 50 lbs.
- Resolve any shipping-related discrepancies or problems promptly.
- Understand the importance of effective logistics in maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation laws and regulations.
- Wear and maintain all required PPE throughout the workday.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar role is essential. Strong knowledge of shipping procedures and common carriers. Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods. Familiarity with warehouse safety standards and the appropriate use of PPE . A good understanding of logistics and supply chain principles is highly beneficial.
