Senior Software Test Analyst
If you’re a strategic problem solver who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments and takes pride in delivering high-quality software, you may be our next Senior Software Test Analyst. We’re a boutique DC-area technology firm supporting mission-focused clients, and as our portfolio continues to grow, we’re seeking a senior testing professional who can drive quality initiatives, mentor others, and serve as a trusted advisor to both technical and business stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Software Test Analyst, you will lead and elevate testing efforts across projects by combining hands-on execution with strategic oversight. You will:
* Lead end-to-end testing activities across the SDLC, from requirements analysis through production validation
* Develop, review, and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts
* Design functional, integration, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing approaches aligned to business and technical requirements
* Ensure traceability between requirements, user stories, and test artifacts to maintain full coverage and auditability
* Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution while conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
* Partner with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure testability early in the lifecycle (shift-left mindset)
* Mentor junior testers and promote best practices in quality assurance and continuous improvement
* Provide risk assessments, quality metrics, and executive-ready reporting on system readiness
* Support release planning, production deployments, and post-release validation activities
What We’re Looking For
You are comfortable operating independently or leading within cross-functional teams. You bring structure to ambiguity, communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences, and proactively identify risks before they become issues.
You should have:
* Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s may substitute for some experience)
* 5+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or related IT roles
* Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, DevSecOps, Waterfall, or hybrid models)
* Demonstrated experience designing and executing test plans aligned to system design specifications and business objectives
* Experience with functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing across complex systems
* Background in requirements gathering, user story development, and validation of business workflows
* Ability to serve as a liaison between operational stakeholders and development teams
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings to leadership
* Experience using tools such as JIRA, Slack, Visio, and Microsoft Office Suite
* Familiarity with test management and automation tools is strongly preferred
Requirements
* Must be able to obtain a DoD Public Trust Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
* Active DoD Public Trust Clearance
* Experience supporting federal or DoD environments
What You’ll Gain
If you join us, you’ll:
* Work in a highly flexible environment (unlimited PTO and flexible telework options)
* Make an immediate impact with meaningful responsibility and visibility
* Help shape testing strategy and quality standards across growing programs
* Receive lifestyle-focused perks beyond traditional benefits (DashPass, Spotify, home office equipment, and more)
If you’re ready to elevate quality, influence delivery outcomes, and lead testing efforts that matter, we’d love to talk.
