Your Role as Nursery Chef

As our dedicated Nursery Chef, you will:

  • Prepare, cook, and present age-appropriate meals to the highest standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment.
  • Collaborate closely with the nursery team and parents to enhance the overall care and educational experience for our children.
  • Keep accurate records of supplies and manage orders while adhering to budget requirements.
  • Work Monday to Friday, all year round, ensuring a consistent and nurturing atmosphere for our little ones.

Key Responsibilities

As our Nursery Chef, you will:

  • Ensure the kitchen meets cleanliness and hygiene standards, completing the Kitchen Hygiene Checklist monthly.
  • Prepare and cook enough age-appropriate food daily, minimizing waste.
  • Communicate dietary requirements clearly to the team and ensure they are met.
  • Work in partnership with nursery staff and parents to promote healthy eating.
  • Plan food orders carefully to meet budgetary requirements.
What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Sound knowledge of managing dietary requirements and food allergies (essential).
  • Understanding of COSHH regulations (essential).
  • Ability to work within a catering budget while maintaining high food service standards (essential).
  • Experience in cooking within domestic or commercial settings (essential).
  • Fluency in written and spoken English at GCSE grade C (or equivalent) (essential).
  • A passion for cooking for young children (desirable).
