What it's like to be a Northbridge Senior Claims Adjuster in Subrogation
As a Senior Claims Adjuster on our National Subrogation team, you'll play a critical role in the final stage of the claims lifecycle. Our team supports adjusters across Canada and is responsible for determining liability, pursuing recovery, and negotiating outcomes when our insured is not at fault. In this role, you'll take ownership of complex, multi‑line commercial subrogation files and work closely with at‑fault insurers, legal partners, and internal claims teams.
This is a highly specialized position where you'll lead litigation strategy, handle extensive documentation, and participate in mediations. You'll also be joining a new, evolving team with national scope, offering a unique opportunity to influence processes, contribute to continuous improvement, and help shape the long‑term success of the department.
We want your talent
If you are great at:
Adjudicating intermediate to highly complex subrogation files, including large‑loss and litigated claims
Conducting thorough coverage and liability investigations with accuracy and attention to detail
Navigating multi‑line commercial claims and collaborating across departments and jurisdictions
Preparing detailed file summaries for internal reporting, large loss, reinsurance, and legal strategy
Negotiating confidently with insurers, counsel, and third parties to drive recovery
Managing a fast‑paced, file‑heavy workload while staying organized and calm
Providing an excellent customer experience while balancing technical and investigative rigor
Bringing forward new ideas and adapting to evolving team processes
And you have:
5+ years of subrogation experience, ideally with large-loss files
Strong litigation experience and confidence working closely with external and internal legal counsel
Multi-line commercial insurance experience (CGL, Auto, D&O, E&O, Property, etc.)
Completed or working towards the CIP designation
Strong technical skills with MS Office Suite
Ability to clearly communicate with Claimants, Brokers, and Legal Council

We're also open to candidates at different levels, so if this range doesn't quite match your expectations, don't let that hold you back — we'd still love to hear from you.
This is a real opportunity — we're actively hiring If the role sounds like a good fit, we encourage you to apply. Beyond base pay, we offer a robust Total Rewards program that includes benefits, wellness support, and other meaningful perks.
