The opportunity:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Group Audit & Conduct, the Compliance Analyst Summer Student will provide administrative support and will be exposed to the compliance framework, reporting, data validation, and special projects.
Key responsibilities include:
Admin Support
Supporting audit teams in the planning, execution and documentation of audit engagements.
Preparing and maintaining audit working papers in accordance with internal audit standards.
Tracking audit issues, action plans and remediation status.
Assisting with report preparation, including drafting summaries and status updates.
Data Validation & Reporting
Supporting data collection and analysis efforts.
Developing data metrics and visualizations to present information in an easily interpretable format, helping to identify patterns and opportunities.
Assisting in reorganizing data to create new reports.
Providing document formatting assistance as needed.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Current enrollment at a post-secondary institution as a first- or second-year student, available for full-time work over the summer.
Proficiency with the MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
An ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.
Dependability, integrity, competence, and a strong work ethic.
A detail-oriented approach with emphasis on a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
Effective interpersonal, organizational and communication skills required to work independently and collaboratively.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly Rate: $18.00 per hour.
This range represents Wellington-Altus's expected range of compensation for this position. Actual compensation will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role. Compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
Wellington-Altus's total compensation package for employees may also include discretionary bonuses as well as other perks and rewards. Wellington-Altus also offers health insurance, accident and life insurance, and other unique benefits per location.
