Mine Production Superintendent
Where will you work: Onsite – Colonsay, Saskatchewan
(Colonsay is located approximately 42 miles from City of Saskatoon, with an average driving time of about 45 minutes)
About The Role
The Mine Production Superintendent provides leadership for all underground production activities in a unionized potash mining environment. This role ensures the mine plan is executed safely and efficiently, supports a high‑performance safety culture, and maintains strong, respectful relationships with employees, supervisors, and union representatives.
What will you do?
Lead underground operations including cutting, ore handling, conveyor systems, ventilation, and auxiliary services.
Support a culture of visible safety leadership, regulatory compliance, hazard reporting and risk mitigation.
Maintain a culture of adherence to safety and production standards.
Oversee and coach frontline supervisors to ensure consistent application of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering to meet production targets and resolve operational bottlenecks.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using production data, digital tools, and best practices.
Maintain accurate production reporting and support emergency response preparations.
Participate in labour–management discussions and support issue resolution at the earliest stage.
Support Mine and Capital planning process.
What You'll Need
10+ years of experience in an underground mining environment (potash preferred)
5+ years of progressive leadership roles in a unionized industrial setting
Diploma or Degree in relevant Engineering, Mine Technology, or equivalent experience
Strong understanding of potash mining processes, ground control management, mobile equipment, and ore flow systems
Solid knowledge of Saskatchewan labour legislation and unionized workforce dynamics
Ability to interpret and apply Collective Bargaining Agreement provisions
Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem‑solving skills
Proven commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement
