About The Role
We're looking for a Senior Financial Analyst who will lead the accounting function for the OCS, managing transactional and reporting activities related to Licensed Producers (LPs) accounts payable, inventory, and revenues. This role will handle day‑to‑day general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and analysis, and will prepare internal reporting packages and executive presentations for the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Board of Directors (BOD).
About Your Day
Prepare and review month‑end accruals and reconciliations; ensure all journal entry support is complete and filed.
Work with IT Applications & Solutions Delivery to define finance requirements for revenue systems and processes.
Support Client Services with retailer ad hoc requests, onboarding, and verification of financial, licensure, and insurance requirements.
Submit daily PAD files for wholesale orders and record wholesale transactions in payment journals.
Process RMA credit memos for ecommerce and wholesale returns and provide monthly RTV/RMA listings to the Senior Financial Analyst.
Collaborate with Client Services and Account Management to enhance revenue accounting procedures; assist in developing accounting policies.
Coordinate with Finance to complete period‑end reporting and prepare monthly inventory reconciliations, working papers, and journal entries.
Partner with the distribution centre and IT to review daily inventory snapshots, analyze variances, and resolve discrepancies.
Address complex inventory issues and support Senior Financial Analysts with the inventory chargeback process.
Work with Supply Chain, Retail, Merchandising, and IT to improve accounting workflows and build inventory models for cost‑of‑sales analysis.
Adjust moving average cost (MAC) following purchase price changes and ensure vendor price protection.
Coordinate SKU transfers, month‑end inventory receipts, and monthly/ad hoc inventory overhead cost entries.
Perform annual inventory impairment testing and lead finance activities during the year‑end physical inventory count.
Ensure timely documentation for GL entries related to vendor payments; prepare and reconcile vendor chargebacks and confirm 3PL inventory adjustments.
Identify vendor process gaps, collaborate on LP vendor invoice approvals, and resolve account variances.
Support improvements to vendor AP processes across Supply Chain, Treasury, Inventory, and LP partners.
Prepare, reconcile, and submit monthly HST remittance reports for approval and CRA filing.
Create and maintain complex spreadsheets and extract data from Microsoft Dynamics 365 for monthly CFO and Board reporting.
Support preparation of financial performance presentations for wholesale and retail operations.
Participate in year‑end external audits, internal controls audits, and prepare required working papers and journal entries.
Respond promptly to requests from the Office of the Auditor General of Ontario and ensure accuracy and timely submission of all required information.
About
About You
Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field OR a combination of education/experience
5+ years of experience in Finance and/or Accounting (inventory and/or revenue accounting is preferred)
Experience within the public sector is preferred
Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA), or equivalent
Excellent accounting knowledge, finance, and analytical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
Sound knowledge of management accounting principles and financial accounting principles (IFRS – existing and future requirements)
High level of integrity and be trustworthy
Ability to work collaboratively and individually
Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment

Location: Toronto, ON near York Mills and Yonge Street
Hours of Work: 36.25 a week
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Required Travel: Rare, usually within the GTA
Compensation
The target hiring range for this position is $80,000-$90,000. This is a pay grade 6 role, with a salary range of $71, $107, Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
