Your future duties and responsibilities
Your mission is to if you join our team
Act as Big Data Cloud Expert within a global team split between Montréal and Paris
Serve as the main point of contact for AMER region projects using the Data Lake platform
Contribute to the maintenance and evolution of the Big Data offering on Microsoft Azure
Collaborate with security teams to identify risks and ensure alignment with required constraints
Implement Java APIs and infrastructure-as-code scripts to automate the creation of Big Data services
Conduct POCs to evaluate new Big Data technologies based on emerging needs
Advise project teams on technology selection
Support Spark implementation and performance tuning
Assist with version upgrades across tools and components
Provide guidance on cost optimization for Big Data workloads
Deliver training sessions on the Big Data platform
Participate in production support, including overtime when necessary, and communicate incident updates to AMER users
Work with Microsoft to diagnose root causes for platform issues, identify workarounds, and implement solutions
Coordinate with Paris for incident handover after Paris hours, and with Asia for cases extending past AMER hours
Contribute to platform design, transformation projects, implementation, and ongoing support
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
Your profile if you want to join our team:
5+ years of development and architecture experience with Java, including multi-threaded applications and APIs
Strong ability to communicate in English and Frenc, both orally and in writing*
Previous experience with Oracle SQL, PostgreSQL, or similar RDBMS technologies
Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure management (e.g., Kubernetes)
Experience with Big Data technologies such as Apache Spark, NoSQL databases, Airflow
Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies such as AKS, Azure Storage, Azure Synapse
Working knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Helm, PowerShell, or Bash
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, DEC, or equivalent technical certifications
Language Requirement
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is required, as the person in this position will collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,000–$135,00. This role is an existing vacancy.
