The Opportunity
We are seeking a Building Condition Assessor (P.Eng.) to join our expanding team. This is a remote-based role (Greater Toronto Area preferred) that blends field investigations with work-from-home flexibility.
You will work closely with senior consultants to perform building condition assessments, analyze building systems, develop capital planning strategies, and contribute to high-quality technical reporting. This role offers meaningful exposure to diverse facility types across municipal, institutional, commercial, and multi-residential sectors.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct field inspections and comprehensive building condition assessments (BCAs).
Evaluate structural, building envelope, and mechanical/electrical systems.
Collect and analyze condition data to support capital planning and asset management strategies.
Prepare clear, concise, and defensible technical reports.
Perform service life analysis and assist with repair/replacement cost forecasting.
Support senior consultants in developing technical recommendations and performance strategies.
Contribute to building envelope performance reviews and rehabilitation planning.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders as required.
Travel to project sites throughout Ontario and occasionally across Canada.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, or related discipline).
5–7 years of relevant experience in building condition assessments, building science, or asset management.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
Strong knowledge of:
UNIFORMAT II (ASTM E1557) classification (preferred)
Ontario Building Code (OBC)
Building envelope systems and deterioration mechanisms
Experience with service life analysis and capital reserve planning is an asset.
Proficiency in CAD software and strong technical writing skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
