I'm a real estate content creator producing short-form vertical videos (Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok) that blend real footage with AI-generated characters. I'm looking for a video editor with VFX/compositing experience who can place animated characters (ex: life-size talking objects) into real environments so they feel believable and interactive.
These are comedic skits filmed in real spaces (kitchen, home interiors, listings, etc.) where I interact with a character — including scenes where the character sits in furniture, talks, reacts, and occasionally resists physical interaction (ex: I reach to pick it up and it struggles).
Responsibilities:
• Composite AI characters into real footage without altering the environment
• Motion track characters to chairs, counters, and surfaces
• Mask layers so interactions look natural (hands passing in front, depth, etc.)
• Sync character dialogue using provided voiceover
• Add subtle animation and reactions so characters feel alive
• Deliver clean vertical edits optimized for social platforms
• Maintain character consistency across multiple videos
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with compositing and VFX (After Effects, Runway, Blender, or similar)
• Motion tracking and masking workflow
• Familiarity with AI video/animation tools (Runway, Pika, HeyGen, ElevenLabs, etc.)
• Strong sense of comedic timing and short-form pacing
• Ability to collaborate and suggest creative improvements
Project Details:
• Vertical videos, typically 20–60 seconds
• Footage, scripts, and voiceover provided
• Mix of simple episodes (character talking) and interaction episodes (character reacting physically)
• Ongoing work available if it's a good fit
• Typical turnaround: 2–4 days per video
Budget:
Base rate per video with additional pay for more complex interaction/VFX scenes. Open to per-video or monthly retainer structure.
