We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller who thrives in an agile environment and is passionate about building scalable processes. This is a hands-on role with significant growth potential, ideal for someone who is ready to take ownership of key accounting functions and contribute to our financial strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting Close & Consolidation: Lead month-end/year-end close and entity consolidations. Oversee the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Drive the preparation of comprehensive internal and external financial statements in accordance with ASPE, with readiness to support future reporting framework transitions (IFRS/US GAAP as applicable). Provide insightful commentary for management on variance analysis and trends.
- Audit & Compliance Management: Act as the primary liaison for external auditors, coordinating the delivery of audit schedules and technical memos. Ensure a seamless audit flow by proactively managing PBC lists and documentation.
- Revenue Recognition: Own revenue recognition and contract accounting policies, ensuring alignment with applicable accounting standards and evolving product structures.
- Process Optimization & Systems: Identify and execute improvements to accounting processes, including the automation of expense management and ERP integrations. Strengthen internal controls and Segregation of Duties as the company scales.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with Operations, Sales, and HR to eliminate process bottlenecks and ensure that front-end system workflows accurately reflect back-end financial reporting requirements.
- People Leadership & Mentorship: Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, setting clear KPIs for staff and overseeing the quality of work.
What it takes:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance + CPA Designation (Required).
- Progressive accounting experience with a minimum 3-5 years in a senior accounting role.
- Experience supporting ERP implementations (NetSuite strongly preferred).
- Advanced Excel proficiency (complex financial modeling, data manipulation, Power Query experience preferred).
- Experience managing a high performing team
- Strong analytical logic, strategic problem-solving, and the ability to drive change in a fast-paced environment.
