Join NAV CANADA's Corporate Performance Team — where data science meets aviation strategy.As a Research and Predictive Insights Analyst, you will influence decisions and help shape the future of NAV CANADA. Your work will inform forecasting, guide Air Traffic Management (ATM) performance measurement and support strategic initiatives that impact millions of passengers and the aviation industry. This role is essential in transforming data into insights that drive service delivery, improved performance, and long term success for one of the world's largest air navigation service providers.
You will be part of a diverse team supporting NAV CANADA's core business functions through the development of air traffic, revenue, and performance forecasting, as well as advanced analytics which includes development of ATM performance based decision support tools. You will also research and monitor industry trends, interpret complex information, and translate data from multiple internal and external sources into actionable insights

Key Accountabilities:
Represent NAV CANADA as an advanced analytics and predictive modeling subject matter expert.
Promote diversity of thought across the industry through research and collaboration.
Research economic, environmental, and global aviation trends within Canada and internationally.
Collaborate across NAV CANADA and the aviation industry on strategy development, air traffic performance measurement, and benchmarking.
Produce analytical reports and information with data obtained from internal and external sources and provide actionable insights.
Lead collaborative activities on forecasting and analytics projects with internal and external stakeholders.
Contribute to the development, testing, and refinement of statistical and machine learning models used in aviation forecasting and scenario analysis.
Prepare, clean, and transform large datasets.
Develop operational decision support tools.
Analyze Air Traffic Management performance trends and interpret results to support service delivery.
Support the development and continuous improvement of air traffic and revenue forecasting methodologies, analysis, and reporting.
Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics or other relevant education.
Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field considered an asset.
Experience:
3-5 years of work experience in data analysis, data science, forecasting and research; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in operational modeling, including designing and validating models that simulate system performance, assess operational scenarios, and support planning, forecasting, and service‑delivery.
Experience in quantitative and qualitative research and studies analyzing and synthesizing results of findings.
Experience building interactive data applications and dashboards using tools such as Dash, Flask, Plotly, , or R Markdown.
Front-end development experience with React and TypeScript is desirable.
Experience with reporting and presentation tools such as PowerPoint, Power BI, and Excel.
Experience building collaborative networks and working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience with development of reproducible analytical workflows.
Experience building scalable analytical tools and decision support applications.
Experience communicating the outcomes of complex analyses to senior management via reports and presentations.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of quantitative, qualitative and decision analysis and forecasting methodologies.
Knowledge of data collection, manipulation, and validation techniques.
Excellent programming skills in Python and SQL, including experience with data manipulation, analysis, and performance optimization.
Working knowledge of R for statistical analysis and reporting.
Solid software engineering practices, including Git version control, code reviews, modular design, testing, and documentation.
Knowledge of forecasting models (e.g., ARIMA, Prophet, Exponential Smoothing).
Knowledge of data pipelines and model deployment.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the aviation industry and Canada's Air Navigation System.
Abilities:
Ability to design, develop, validate and communicate results of advanced predictive models using statistical and analytical techniques.
Ability to understand the implications of new data and information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
Ability to identify complex problems, research and develop options and implement solutions within a broad range of subject areas.
Ability to work with multiple data sets using various tooling, conduct analyses, and generate actionable insights.
Ability to quantify uncertainty and assess model performance.
Ability to translate vague business challenges and requirements into structured analytical solutions.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally, visually, and in writing.
Ability to transform analytical insights into compelling visual stories for non-technical audiences.
