Job Overview:
GrizzlyTrek is currently seeking one Power Block CSU Coordinator to join our Valued Clients team at the ENZHEC Project. This is a Contract position, ideally suited to an individual committed to excellence, leadership, and safety. Under the direction of the CSU Manager, the Power Block CSU Coordinator will prepare for and lead the safe Commissioning and Startup (C&SU) of the Power Block Unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Build comprehensive knowledge of the client, CSU Execution Plan, project schedule, systemization, and assigned Power Block systems during the construction phase.

  • Establish strong working relationships with CSU, Construction, Engineering, and Operations teams.

  • Understand client terminology, procedures, EH&S standards, and project-specific requirements.

  • Prepare for system turnover by reviewing system scope, turnover sequence, cleaning plans, and steam blow procedures.

  • Support review and finalization of Cleaning Contractor procedures and temporary spools or consumables required for CSU.

  • Utilize and support SmartCompletions (CMS tool), including Construction Complete walkdowns, punch list management, and system handover processes.

  • Review, comment on, and finalize Power Block Commissioning Packages and procedures in alignment with vendor requirements.

  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture, auditing, intervening, coaching, and mentoring in the field.

  • Ensure compliance with SIMOPS plans and communicate planned activities directly with construction teams.

  • Support Operations Readiness Inspection (ORI/PSSR) to validate startup readiness.

  • Attend and contribute to daily CSU execution meetings and 3-week lookahead planning.

  • Coordinate field activities between Operations and Craft Discipline Leads.

  • Lead field issue resolution, escalating safety or execution barriers as required.

  • Act as CSU liaison with vendors and specialty contractors, monitoring progress and supporting execution.

  • Support development and issuance of nightshift Daily Order Instructions (DOIs).

Power Block Specific Responsibilities:

  • Support auxiliary system pre-commissioning activities, including lube oil flushing and fuel gas system testing.

  • Assist with control systems validation, including machine protection systems, Bently Nevada systems for Baker Hughes GTGs, and MHI-specific control logic.

  • Support grid synchronization of GTG and STG units, including load rejection and performance testing.

  • Collaborate with Cleaver-Brooks technical advisors and cleaning contractors for HRSG chemical cleaning (boil-out).

  • Oversee vendor-led calibration of critical instrumentation to ensure safe execution of the First Fire sequence.

  • Support Woodward Governor and control system calibration to ensure precise speed and load control.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in commissioning, startup, or operations within power generation or large industrial projects.

  • Demonstrated experience with gas turbine generators (GTG), steam turbine generators (STG), HRSG systems, and associated auxiliary systems.

  • Strong knowledge of commissioning processes, system turnover, and mechanical completion practices.

  • Experience working with Completions Management Systems such as SmartCompletions.

  • Proven leadership in field coordination, safety management, and multi-disciplinary team environments.

  • Thorough understanding of EH&S standards and PSSR/ORI processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Baker Hughes GTGs, MHI systems, Bently Nevada protection systems, and Woodward control systems.

  • Previous experience supporting grid synchronization and performance testing.

  • Experience working on large-scale EPC projects in oil and gas, power generation, or heavy industrial sectors.

Work Environment:

  • Field-based role within a large-scale industrial construction and commissioning environment.

  • Exposure to operating power generation equipment, construction activities, and commissioning operations.

  • Must be comfortable working extended hours in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment.
