About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven accountant to join our growing finance team. This role goes beyond basic bookkeeping—it plays a key part in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting compliance, and contributing to informed business decision-making.
The successful candidate will work closely with management and cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity of financial data, improve reporting processes, and support overall operational efficiency. This position is ideal for an accounting professional with 2–3 years of experience who is confident handling core accounting functions and is looking to expand their responsibilities in auditing, taxation, and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and post accurate journal entries
Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and accruals
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
Assist in preparing financial statements and internal management reports
Support internal and external audits by organizing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
Prepare and file corporate tax returns and ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations
Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed
Conduct variance analysis and identify discrepancies or opportunities for cost savings
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
Recommend improvements to accounting procedures and internal controls
Qualifications & Requirements
2–3 years of hands-on accounting experience
Strong understanding of auditing processes and tax filing requirements
Solid knowledge of journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
Experience preparing financial reports
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
CPA designation is not required but is considered an asset
Must currently reside in Burnaby or be willing to relocate within the next few weeks

Pay: $50,000 to $68,000
