We are on the lookout for Turf Maintenance, Mower Operators to join our team, where your "office" is one of Nova Scotia's beautiful outdoor settings. If you enjoy working outdoors and take pride in seeing the results of your hard work, this could be the perfect opportunity for you
As Turf Maintenance, Mower Operator, you'll be part of a collaborative and dedicated grounds team responsible for maintaining the high-quality playing surfaces across the golf course. In this hands-on role, you'll contribute to creating an exceptional experience for members and guests by ensuring the course is safe, well-kept, and visually impressive—all while building valuable skills in turf care and equipment operation within a supportive, fast‑paced environment.
Candidates may be selected for full-time or part-time seasonal employment.
How you'll spend your day:
- Operate various types of mowers this can include both rotary and reel mowers as well as other tools such as leaf blowers, utility vehicles, bunker rakes, and other power tools to maintain the course.
- Maintain all playing surfaces on the property including greens, fairways, rough, sand bunkers, etc., including assisting with turf repairs and trimming.
- Perform daily equipment checks and cleaning of mowers after each use.
- Maintain fuel levels for all equipment used daily, grease weekly & report equipment problems to management immediately.
- Monitor and report turf conditions (e.g. signs of pests or disease, dry spots) and communicate concerns to the Superintendent promptly.
- Always adhere to Health & Safety policies and safety practices set forth by Glen Arbour Golf Course, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Ensure quality and attention to detail exists in all work performed (accurate, thorough, and timely)
- Performs other related duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
What will help you thrive:
- Valid Driver's Licence and reliable transportation.
- Previous experience working in golf course maintenance considered an asset
- Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays in a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
