CONTRIBUTE TO RESIDENTS' WELL-BEING

Our client, the Dalhousie Nursing Home (Villa Renaissance), is seeking a Dietetic Advisor to support the quality, safety, and consistency of food and nutrition services across its long-term care living environments in Dalhousie and Campbellton.

Here, food goes far beyond meals: it affects comfort, health, daily routines, enjoyment, and dignity.

Through your expertise, you will help shape practical decisions that meaningfully improve residents' day-to-day lives, while taking frontline realities into account.

ARE YOU OUR EXCEPTIONAL CANDIDATE?

You will succeed someone who held this role for more than 30 years. This is a rare opportunity: build on strong foundations, ensure reassuring continuity, and help evolve practices with sensitivity and professionalism.

In this role, your voice matters.

Nutrition is recognized as an essential component of care, and your clinical judgment will be relied on to guide decisions, support teams, and maintain an approach that is both humane, safe, and consistent. We are looking for someone rigorous and caring, able to collaborate respectfully, support others with tact, and act as a trusted advisory resource.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

Reporting to the Director of Nutrition Services, you will be an integral part of the decision-making team and will collaborate daily with food services, care teams, and relevant partners. As an advisor, you will help guide decisions and practices to meet residents' needs in a safe, consistent, and sustainable way.

Specifically, you will first contribute to the quality and performance of food services by supporting menu and workflow optimization, compliance with hygiene and food safety standards, continuous improvement of the dining experience, and responsible use of resources.

You will also play a key role in clinical nutrition by ensuring personalized, safe, and continuous care: nutrition assessment and follow-up, adaptation of diets and textures based on clinical needs, documentation of recommendations in resident files, and collaboration with clinical teams and families when required.

At our organization, the food and nutrition approach is recognized as a central part of the resident care experience.

WHAT YOU BRING

You bring university-level training in nutrition or dietetics, along with a clinical foundation that enables you to assess situations with rigor and sound judgment. As a member of the applicable professional order—or eligible based on role requirements—you carry out your responsibilities with professionalism, ethics, and accountability.

Beyond technical expertise, you stand out for the quality of your judgment, your ability to prioritize, and your skill in translating clinical observations into clear, realistic, and actionable recommendations. You collaborate effectively with care, food services, and management teams in a spirit of respect, listening, and solution-focused partnership. Your approach is both structured and human: you uphold high standards of quality and safety while keeping residents' comfort, preferences, and dignity front and center.

You are comfortable in environments where clinical priorities, operational constraints, and budget realities must be balanced without losing sight of what matters most. Finally, your ability to communicate in both French and English is an important asset in supporting residents, families, and teams across the service area.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM?
  • To hold a meaningful, respected, and practical role in residents' lives.
  • To work in a people-centered environment where expertise is valued and heard.
  • To contribute to modern nutrition practice in a recent facility in Dalhousie.
  • To step into a stable role with strong continuity and real growth potential.
  • To benefit from competitive working conditions (compensation, vacation, benefits, and pension plan). To be part of committed teams focused on quality care.
