Job Description:
As an important member of the purchasing team, the Purchasing Coordinator will assist the Purchasing Specialist and Purchasing Manager in ensuring all steps in the purchase process are followed. This role involves the compilation of requisitions, purchase orders, reviewing quotations, and communicating professionally with the internal and external parties.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Review and process purchase requisitions
- Responsible for completing import/export documentation accurately and efficiently
- Assist with preparing bid specifications, formal bid invitations or requests for proposals
- Receives and analyzes bids, quotes, proposals and administers contracts for lower level daily MRO requirements
- Ensure purchase orders have correct pricing, codes, appropriate delivery dates and required signatures
- Accurately maintain and update purchase order files purchasing logs and vendor information
- Implements and follow up on change orders
- Assist with clerical duties associated with purchasing, including but not limited to; collection and filing of certificates of insurance, executed contract agreements and purchasing related documents
- Coordinate shipping with customs agents for clearances on overseas deliveries
- Assist with price and delivery negotiations
- Liaison between company and vendors/suppliers
- Assist staff with purchasing needs, when needed
- Assist with monitoring each step of the purchasing cycle to ensure on time delivery
- Identify, qualify capable suppliers, maintain effective relationship with suppliers
- Monthly purchasing report (such as raw material, PPE suppliers and factory supplies)
- Maintain 5S
- Assist on other projects within the company, as assigned
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- 1+ years Purchasing experience preferred
- Post secondary education in purchasing/supply chain management or related discipline preferred
- Above average research & customer service skills
- Attention to detail in all areas of work
- Knowledge of MS office applications & Plex/SAP will be as asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Well-developed organization, time management, analytical and follow up skills
- Above average problem solving and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Intuitive, able to anticipate needs and respond with a sense of urgency
- Action-oriented, flexible dedicated and committed
