Job Description:

What will you work on?
Reporting to the Senior Director, Credit and Collections Operations, the Senior Manager, Credit and Collections, will be a key member of the Credit and Collections team. The Senior Manager, Credit and Collections is responsible for overseeing the credit and collections processes for the North American operations including managing a team of credit and collections specialists. This role is critical in safeguarding cash flow, minimizing bad debt write-offs, and supporting revenue growth while maintaining strong customer relationships. The ideal candidate has deep experience in credit policy & collections strategy, financial literacy and cross-functional collaboration within a public company environment. This role will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to be part of a growing business, to demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
How will you create impact?

  • Lead the collections process ensuring timely collections, maximizing cashflow and achieving Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) targets
  • Implement and enforce corporate credit policies and procedures
  • Monitor customer credit exposure and work closely with sales teams to proactively identify and mitigate credit risk
  • Evaluate customer creditworthiness and provide recommendations to the Senior Director, Credit & Collections Operations
  • Effectively manage escalated or high-risk accounts, including negotiations, disputes, payment plans, and recovery strategies
  • Lead key monthly/quarterly meetings with Sales, Operations and Finance, as required
  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of credit and collections specialists
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement – including automation initiatives
  • Set performance goals and prepare regular KPI reporting that drives team performance and reports out to leadership on collection effectiveness
  • Support month-end/ quarter-end close processes, including calculation of AFDA in accordance with IFRS
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams across the business including Sales, Trade Spend & Deductions Management, Operations, IT, etc.
  • Monitor and establish relationships with North American customers to strategically manage financial, environmental, and political risk associated to accounts receivable
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and support the internal and external audits

What are your skills and experience?

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration or related discipline
  • 7+ years' experience in a public company setting, preferably in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) Industry
  • Demonstrated expertise in credit risk assessment, collections strategy, and dispute resolution
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Experience with large ERP systems (i.e. SAP, Oracle, etc.), advanced reporting tools and High Radius is an asset
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office and advanced level Excel skills (pivots, v-lookups, and advanced formulas)

The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in Ontario is $118,000 to $125,000 Per Annum. The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc. Spin Master Inc. is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work only in other states.
