About Grandview Kids Grandview Kids provides an array of specialized programs, rehabilitation services, and outpatient clinical treatments to children and youth with physical, communication, and developmental needs. Programs and services – which are delivered at the Centre, in the community, at schools, and in-home – include: medical consultation, assessment, and diagnosis; audiology, autism support; complex care program; occupational therapy; physiotherapy; respite services; social work; speech-language pathology; therapeutic recreation; and family engagement. Grandview Kids actively participates in research to support innovation in rehabilitation science, to advance organizational capabilities, and to better serve caregivers and the developmental needs of their children and adolescents. Grandview Kids is now accepting applications for the position of:
Nursing Student, Summer Camp (Contract Full-Time) – 2 Positions- 37.5 hours per week (1FTE)
- Salary: $20.50 per hour (1st year), $21.00 per hour (2nd year returning), $21.50 per hour (3rd year returning)
- Contract Duration: June 22nd , 2026 – August 28th , 2026
- Core hours for Summer Camp staff are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday.

Under the general direction of the Program Manager, Inclusive Recreation the Summer Camp Nursing Student provide and assist with client's personal care while ensuring dignity and safety. This role includes working in a team environment assisting with camp activities and supporting departmental/Centre efforts in Quality management (QM) activities; participates in education, orientation and public relations as required; maintains a safe work environment; performs other related duties, as assigned.
ResponsibilitiesThe Nursing Student provide and assist with client's personal care by:
- Toileting and diaper changes
- Lifts and transfers of dependent clients
- Feeding – both oral and g-tube
- Administering medication and providing first aid if required
- Submitting incident reports when required
- Other duties as assigned
- Currently enrolled in a nursing post-secondary diploma or baccalaureate program
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications
- Experience working with children and youth with special needs
- Experience working in a camp setting
Preference given to 3rd and 4th year nursing students
To meet the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) Funding Program eligibility, which supports this role, applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment, and legally entitled to work in Canada. Please refer to the CSJ Guidelines for more details.
You are a superior communicator, both written and verbal with exceptional organizational and time management skills. You possess excellent interpersonal skills, and work effectively with families, all levels of staff, and ensure continuity of care. You have a deep commitment to family-centred care and a passion for working with others to support children to achieve their personal best. You will have experience working in camp settings with children and youth with physical, communication and developmental needs combined with education in a related field.
