We are seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This role is crucial to ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently, meeting our clients' needs. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, inspecting outgoing goods, and maintaining accurate shipping records. Responsibilities:
- Generate and process shipping labels and documentation accurately.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Inspect outgoing merchandise for damage or discrepancies before packaging.
- Maintain organized shipping areas and ensure inventory is properly stored.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners regarding shipment status.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially concerning safety protocols.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed to support overall operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or general warehouse operations preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to perform tasks requiring moderate physical exertion, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE .
- Understanding of logistics principles is a plus.
