Position Purpose:

The Project Accountant plays a key role in administering the Accounts Receivable (AR) process from start to finish. This includes preparing invoices, following up on collections, recording entries in Great Plains (GP), producing AR reports, and supporting internal/external audit activities. The role ensures accurate financial tracking and timely collections, contributing to the organization's financial integrity and operational efficiency.

What You Will Do:

  • Prepare invoices for internal Finance and project teams to review and approve, ensuring accuracy and completeness before sending to clients.
  • Administer the day-to-day invoice collection process, including monitoring cash receipts, recording payments, following up on overdue invoices with clients and internal teams, and escalating long overdue invoices as needed.
  • Respond to client inquiries and provide clarification on invoiced amounts, escalating issues as needed.
  • Produce AR reports on a monthly/quarterly basis and provide commentary and key highlights for management and project teams.
  • Support internal and external audits, semi-annual processes, and other ad hoc requests from management.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Knowledgeable in accounting principles, financial reporting, and process optimization.
  • A few years' experience in accounts receivable, invoicing, and collections within a finance environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with PowerBI and Great Plains is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently on routine tasks while collaborating effectively with internal teams and clients.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with key partners internally and externally.

We offer a competitive salary range of $66,500 to $85,000 (P2 level), pay will align with skills, knowledge and experience of the candidate.
