About the role and the team:
At eBay, we believe great products don't just happen—they're built with passion, collaboration, and a drive to make things better. Our mission is to improve how we build and launch products that Buyers and Sellers around the world love. We are dedicated to optimizing every stage of the product development lifecycle—streamlining processes, accelerating delivery, and empowering cross-functional teams to focus on outcomes and magical customer experiences. If you're excited about shaping the way great products come to life and improving experiences for millions of customers, we'd love for you to join us
As a TPM on the eBay Live engineering team, you'll drive execution across complex, multi-team technical programs—platform capabilities, backend services, infrastructure, reliability, and developer productivity. You'll partner deeply with engineering leaders and architects to translate technical strategy into executable plans, manage cross-team dependencies, and ensure predictable delivery of high-quality software.
What you will accomplish:
Drive programs spanning architecture, backend services, APIs, infrastructure, and operational readiness, coordinating delivery across multiple engineering teams.
Build multi-quarter plans in collaboration with product and engineering leads, guiding estimation and tradeoffs.
Enable execution readiness by ensuring clarity around goals, timelines, and handoffs; proactively flag risks or misalignments before they escalate
Partner with engineering leadership to define and track technical milestones, including design reviews, build phases, integration, testing, rollout, and post-launch validation.
Proactively resolve delivery risks and operational issues to keep initiatives on track.
Lead prioritization discussions with cross-functional partners, supporting data-driven and customer-centered decisions.
Introduce scalable execution practices, such as risk logs, intake processes, or RACI documentation that improve delivery hygiene and reduce team friction
Communicate clearly and confidently across engineering, product, and executive audiences.
Ensure alignment across teams and surface key decisions, blockers, and progress updates.
Identify and implement tools, workflows, or process improvements that increase delivery speed and transparency.
What you will bring:
5+ years of Technical Program Management experience, including establishing program management frameworks for new or early-stage initiatives and scaling them as programs mature.
Experience transitioning from Software Engineering (or similar technical role) into Technical Program Management, or significant hands-on technical delivery experience in lieu of that.
Proven track record to define structure where none exists, creating planning, execution, and reporting mechanisms that enable teams to adapt quickly without losing clarity.
Strong experience driving cross-functional planning across Product, Engineering, Design, Data, and Operations in highly agile, rapidly evolving environments.
Deep understanding of software delivery, technical dependencies, risk management, and execution tradeoffs, with a bias toward speed, iteration, and impact.
Strong fluency in distributed systems , service-oriented architectures, and modern SDLC practices (CI/CD, automated testing, release strategies).
Strong communicator and facilitator, comfortable navigating ambiguity, resolving misalignment, and influencing decisions without formal authority.
A trusted cross-functional partner who keeps teams aligned, advised, and unblocked while balancing autonomy and accountability.
Strong proficiency with program management and planning tools (JIRA, Confluence, Airtable, or similar), and the ability to tailor tooling to fit new programs.
Thrives in eBay Live's high-growth, dynamic environment, bringing structure, momentum, and clarity to new programs without slowing teams down.
