Job Title: Human Resources Generalist
Job Description
This operational and hands-on role supports day-to-day HR activities within manufacturing plants. The focus is on employee support, ensuring payroll and attendance accuracy, executing HR systems, and delivering a strong employee experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide core HR operations and generalist support.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employees and managers on day-to-day people matters.
- Manage the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, changes, and exits.
- Guide policy understanding and resolve issues.
- Ensure payroll submission accuracy and manage time and attendance.
- Track attendance and handle exceptions.
- Troubleshoot payroll and time issues and coordinate with service centers.
- Enable employee self-service and guide HR tools and processes.
- Facilitate People Experience communications and provide customer service to hourly and salaried employees.
- Utilize time and attendance systems such as Infor, Kronos, or similar.
- Support a high-speed manufacturing environment and manage shared services escalation.
Essential Skills
- Human resources and employee relations expertise.
- Payroll and HR administration proficiency.
- Strong customer service and administrative support skills.
- Experience in human resource management, employee benefits, and HR support.
- Diploma/Education in Human Resources Management.
- Experience with time and attendance or payroll file submission.
- Co-op or professional experience in the manufacturing industry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with time and attendance systems like Kronos or Infor.
- FMCG experience.
- Experience with an HRIS system like Workday.
Work Environment
The People Experience team is composed of a range of skill sets, including roles in manufacturing plants and support for HR corporate functions and sales teams. The team is supportive, with virtual meetings three times a week and documented processes. The manager fosters a collaborative environment with clear expectations. The team embraces a 'one team' mentality, focusing on mutual support and shared success. The work environment is fast-paced, requiring quick learning, problem-solving, and strong customer service skills. New hires will report directly to the manager but receive on-site support from People Leads and other HR staff. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with one day per week requiring shift adjustment for night coverage.
