Ideas with Intention

zag (that is right, no capital) is a full-service, marketing and advertising agency that is hell-bent on getting to know brands inside and out. We ensure we capture the perfect blend of creativity, strategy, and management to catapult brands in the right direction with ease. With us, there is always room to grow, and we are currently looking for a Designer to do just that.

We come to work every day to solve challenges, and we lean on our teammates to do it. We all have titles, but we are not defined by them. By working together and bending our disciplines, we bring unique perspectives to the table, learn from each other, and stick the landing.

We have six guiding principles that help keep us grounded along the way:

Be Better.

We strive for unicorn-level greatness.

Own It.

We care about what we create.

Think Beyond.

We outsmart challenges with creative and forward thinking.

Get Real.

We dare to show up as ourselves.

Team Up.

We take the carpool lane, working together to achieve the best results.

All In.

We make it count. Every day.

Why zag?

  • You'll be empowered to design, problem-solve, and create — not just execute tasks.
  • We value ideas, initiative, and people who challenge the norm.
  • You'll work in a collaborative environment where strategy and design fuel each other.
  • You'll be encouraged to stay curious, explore ideas and continually seek new and better ways to do things through technology and innovation.
  • There's room to grow, expand your creative voice, and build a strong portfolio — with the mentorship and team support to help you get there.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional graphic design experience, ideally in an agency or as part of a fast-paced creative team.
  • A portfolio showcasing strong conceptual thinking and polished execution across brand, print and digital.
  • Continually seek new and better ways to do things through technology and innovation, which includes but isn't limited to AI
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); Figma, or other industry leading creative and digital tools.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to take feedback constructively.
  • A detail-oriented, collaborative mindset — you thrive on delivering quality work that solves real problems
  • Passion for creativity, visual storytelling, and staying current on design trends and industry tools.

Primary Objective for this Position

The Designer brings ideas to life visually, transforming briefs and concepts into impactful creative work. This role balances craft with collaboration, executing designs that are thoughtful, strategic, and aligned with project goals.

You will work closely with the Creative and Technology teams, and Account Managers to translate strategy into design across client campaigns and brand projects. You're a hands-on designer who thrives on doing the work — from first draft to final polish — and takes pride in solving creative challenges with thoughtful execution.

Key Responsibilities

The day-to-day will evolve, but core duties include:

  • Design creative assets for multi-channel campaigns — including digital and social content, brand collateral, and integrated advertising mediums.
  • Translate briefs and direction into clear, compelling design work that support client goals.
  • Collaborate with the Creative and Technology teams, and Account Managers to ensure consistency and alignment across deliverables.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines, balancing quality with efficiency.
  • Take feedback constructively and revise work thoughtfully to align with creative direction.
  • Contribute ideas in brainstorms and creative reviews, supporting the development of strong concepts.
  • Stay current on design best practices, tools, and trends to continually improve your craft.

You will also:

  • Take ownership of your work and deliverables from start to finish.
  • Share inspiration, techniques, or resources that benefit the broader creative team.
  • Seek ways to streamline your workflows and improve the design process.
  • Approach every project — big or small — with a calm, positive, solution-oriented mindset.

What we offer you:

  • Competitive pay
  • Comprehensive Dental and Health benefits
  • Competitive vacation time, PTO days, and zag days.
  • Extracurriculars (holiday parties, summer party, Party Planning Committee, etc. – and more)

Applying

Shortlisted applications will receive an email from us requesting a 30-minute screening interview. Following the screening interview, successful applicants will receive a request for a formal interview.

We understand how uncertain the application process can be, so we promise not to leave you hanging. If at any time you are not selected to move forward, you will receive an email from us letting you know.
