We have an immediate opening for a proactive Shipping Clerk in our Philadelphia, Pennsylvania location. This role is critical to ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. You will be responsible for preparing shipment documentation, coordinating with carriers, and verifying package contents. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining organized shipping logs are paramount. This position is a key component of our logistics operations, ensuring customer satisfaction through reliable and timely deliveries.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate shipping labels, manifests, and other required documentation.
- Verify order contents against shipping orders to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage and proper packaging.
- Stage outgoing shipments in designated areas for carrier pickup.
- Maintain organized records of all shipments.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external carriers.
- This role involves some lifting of packages up to 30 lbs and requires standing for periods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a similar administrative role is preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common carrier platforms.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics flow.
- Understanding of safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to ensuring timely and accurate deliveries is essential.
