We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is critical to our warehouse operations, ensuring that materials are moved correctly and on time to meet customer demands. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, adhering to strict safety protocols and operational procedures. Your primary focus will be on material handling, loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining an organized and clean work environment. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse safety guidelines and a commitment to accident prevention. Experience with various types of forklifts, including sit-down and stand-up models, is highly preferred. You will be expected to perform daily inspections of your equipment to ensure it is in good working order. Attention to detail is paramount to ensure accuracy in inventory management and order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent hand-eye coordination, good physical stamina, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials within the warehouse.
- Conduct pre-operation equipment checks and maintain daily inspection logs.
- Ensure all loads are secure and properly handled to prevent damage or accidents.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety rules and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Participate in inventory counts and assist with cycle counts as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely order processing.
- Follow instructions for specific picking and put-away tasks.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement in all aspects of the job.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification is a plus.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring significant lifting and manual dexterity.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work flexible hours and shifts as required.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Prior experience in logistics or distribution environments is advantageous.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a bonus.
