Join our expanding logistics team in Sacramento, California, as a Material Handler! We are looking for skilled and dependable individuals to manage the flow of materials within our warehouse. This role is essential for maintaining operational efficiency and requires proficiency in operating various material handling equipment, including forklifts. You will be responsible for safely loading and unloading trucks, moving inventory between different areas of the warehouse, stocking shelves, and preparing goods for shipment. A strong emphasis is placed on safety; therefore, all Material Handlers must be well-versed in safe operating procedures, conduct daily equipment checks, and consistently use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The ability to perform frequent lifting of items weighing 50 lbs or more, along with stamina for prolonged physical activity, is a requirement. Prior experience operating stand-up and sit-down forklifts is essential, and relevant certifications are highly valued. A good understanding of warehouse organization and logistics principles will be beneficial. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and shipping containers.
- Transport inventory to designated storage locations and production areas.
- Receive, verify, and stock incoming materials.
- Assist in order picking and preparing items for shipment.
- Conduct pre-operation checks on equipment and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
- Participate in inventory counts and audits.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift operator certification is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lift and move heavy objects (50+ lbs).
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse safety standards and the use of PPE.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
