Join our team as a Reach Truck Operator in sunny Jacksonville, Florida! We are looking for a skilled and experienced operator to manage the efficient movement and storage of goods within our distribution center. As a Reach Truck Operator, you will utilize specialized equipment to handle high-volume operations, ensuring materials are accurately stored in racking systems and retrieved for order fulfillment. Safety, precision, and a strong understanding of warehouse logistics are paramount in this role. You will work closely with our warehouse management team to optimize storage space and maintain inventory integrity. We are committed to providing a safe working environment and expect all employees to follow strict safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Responsibilities:
- Operate reach trucks safely and efficiently to move, stock, and retrieve materials from racking systems up to 50 feet high.
- Load and unload pallets from trailers and containers.
- Accurately place goods into designated storage locations and ensure proper inventory rotation (FIFO/LIFO).
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of the reach truck and report any defects or maintenance needs.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and help maintain accurate inventory records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, contributing to overall warehouse efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational targets.
- Follow all material handling guidelines to prevent product damage and ensure order accuracy.
- Perform other warehouse duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and a strong work ethic.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating reach trucks in a warehouse environment.
- Valid reach truck operator certification or equivalent training.
- Proficiency in high-rack storage and retrieval operations.
- Strong understanding of warehouse logistics, inventory management, and safety procedures.
- Ability to work at heights and in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime.
