Our Boise, Idaho location is seeking a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products are dispatched accurately and efficiently to our customers. This position involves preparing outgoing shipments, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining detailed shipping records. You will be responsible for verifying order accuracy, packaging items securely, and generating shipping labels and documentation. A strong commitment to detail and adherence to safety standards are essential for this role. Your efforts will directly impact customer satisfaction and the overall efficiency of our distribution network.
Responsibilities:
- Verify outgoing orders for accuracy against shipping documents.
- Package products securely and appropriately for transit, ensuring they are protected from damage.
- Generate shipping labels and prepare all necessary documentation for carriers.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Operate shipping equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts as needed.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the inventory management system accordingly.
- Communicate with customer service and warehouse staff regarding shipping status and any issues.
- Ensure the shipping area is clean, organized, and safe at all times.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar warehouse/logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and carrier portals.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order verification and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Physical capability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics procedures.
- Excellent communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Willingness to follow all safety guidelines and use provided PPE.
