Our Philadelphia, Pennsylvania facility is looking for a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our dedicated team. In this critical role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, responsible for accurately documenting, inspecting, and organizing all received goods. Your meticulous approach will ensure the integrity of our inventory and the efficiency of our logistics operations. You will work closely with vendors, drivers, and internal warehouse staff to manage the receiving process smoothly. This position requires a strong understanding of inventory control and a commitment to upholding safety standards. We value accuracy and efficiency, and your contribution will be key to maintaining our high operational standards.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies against purchase orders and shipping documents.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label incoming inventory for proper storage.
- Organize and stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Communicate any receiving issues, such as short shipments or damaged goods, to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety regulations and protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and audits as needed.
- Support other warehouse functions when required.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a receiving or inventory control role preferred.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and computer systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Willingness to follow all instructions and company policies.
- Commitment to punctuality and reliability.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
