Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding role in logistics? Our Boston, Massachusetts location is seeking an experienced Material Handler. You will play a key role in managing the flow of materials throughout our facility, ensuring that products are moved efficiently and safely. This includes operating various types of material handling equipment, organizing inventory, and supporting shipping and receiving operations. We emphasize a culture of safety, requiring all team members to strictly follow protocols and wear appropriate PPE. This position involves significant physical work, including regular lifting and movement. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other mechanical equipment to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks, verifying contents against shipping documents.
- Transport materials between different areas of the warehouse.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated locations.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment and report any issues.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse environment.
- Support the logistics team with various operational tasks.
- Practice safe lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role. Certification for operating specific equipment (e.g., forklift) is highly desirable. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 60 pounds. Knowledge of warehouse safety standards. Strong understanding of logistics principles. Must be reliable and possess good communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours if needed. Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks. This role requires constant awareness of safety protocols and the correct utilization of PPE.
