Job Summary:
Seeking a proactive Inventory Control Specialist to oversee inventory accuracy and management in our Houston, Texas warehouse. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our stock levels, minimizing discrepancies, and ensuring efficient logistics operations. You will be responsible for tracking inventory, conducting audits, and implementing procedures to improve stock accuracy. A strong analytical mindset and dedication to safety are key.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to minimize loss and damage.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Manage the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse, ensuring proper recording.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, as needed.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to optimize space and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to forecast inventory needs.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Train other staff members on inventory control best practices and safety protocols.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance overall warehouse efficiency.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management systems (WMS) and principles.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to perform lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with safety standards in a warehouse environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
