Our San Diego, California facility has an opening for a diligent Shipping Clerk. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate preparation and processing of all outgoing shipments. Your duties will include verifying shipment details, preparing necessary documentation, packaging orders securely, and coordinating with carriers. This position is crucial for the smooth functioning of our logistics department and ensuring timely delivery to our clients. We maintain a strong commitment to safety, requiring all employees to use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all safety guidelines. This role requires excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Verify accuracy of outgoing orders against shipping documentation.
- Package items securely for transit, ensuring protection against damage.
- Generate shipping labels and prepare bills of lading.
- Schedule pickups with shipping carriers and coordinate logistics.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and track shipments.
- Communicate with internal teams and external carriers regarding shipment status.
- Operate shipping software and equipment efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
- Keep the shipping area clean and organized.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and office equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to wear appropriate PPE, such as safety glasses.
- Basic understanding of shipping regulations and logistics.
