Our dynamic logistics company in San Diego, California is looking for an organized and proactive Warehouse Coordinator. This role involves overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and safety. You will be responsible for managing inventory, coordinating staff activities, optimizing storage space, and ensuring that all logistics processes run smoothly. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of warehouse management systems, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse staff, including material handlers and associates.
- Oversee inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and cycle counts, to ensure accuracy.
- Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization for maximum efficiency.
- Implement and enforce all safety regulations and procedures, ensuring proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Manage the scheduling of inbound and outbound shipments, coordinating with carriers and internal teams.
- Maintain warehouse equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
- Train new staff members on warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and the use of warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Monitor operational performance and identify areas for improvement in the logistics chain.
- Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment and shipping.
- Liaise with other departments, such as procurement and sales, to ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a warehouse supervisory or coordination role.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics software.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform moderate to heavy Lifting as required in a warehouse setting.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse safety best practices and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certifications are a plus.
- Experience in inventory control and supply chain logistics.
