We are hiring a Shipping & Receiving Associate for our New York City, New York location. This dynamic role is central to our supply chain, managing the crucial interface between our warehouse and the outside world. You will be responsible for accurately processing incoming goods, preparing outgoing shipments, and maintaining meticulous records. The ideal candidate is highly organized, possesses excellent communication skills, and is dedicated to upholding stringent safety standards in a busy urban environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
- Accurately document all incoming and outgoing freight using our WMS.
- Prepare products for shipment, including proper packaging, labeling, and staging.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with stock reconciliation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure shipping and receiving area.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and the required use of PPE.
- Coordinate with carriers and internal departments to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
- Manage tasks involving lifting and moving goods, potentially up to 50 pounds.
- Support the broader logistics network through efficient processing.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is required. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including prolonged standing, walking, and lifting. Familiarity with shipping documentation and inventory management systems. Demonstrated understanding of warehouse safety principles and the critical importance of PPE. Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail. Must be capable of working effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. A commitment to contributing to efficient logistics operations.
