We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator for our facility in Durham, North Carolina. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials throughout the warehouse, loading and unloading trucks, and assisting with inventory management. This position is critical to maintaining the flow of goods within our logistics operations. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, electric) to move, stack, and retrieve inventory.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers safely and efficiently.
- Perform pre-operation inspections on forklifts and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Assist with inventory counts and ensure accurate placement of goods.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to logistics and warehouse operations.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times, including safety shoes and vests.
- Assist other warehouse staff with tasks as needed, demonstrating strong teamwork.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols for forklift operation and general warehouse safety, including safe lifting practices.
- Respond to dispatch instructions and manage the flow of materials within the warehouse.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA-approved).
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and forklift best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and spatial awareness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of logistics and inventory flow.
- Willingness to work shifts and occasional overtime.
