We are seeking a motivated and reliable Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is crucial to the efficient operation of our warehouse, ensuring the smooth flow of goods from receiving to dispatch. The Material Handler will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including moving, organizing, and preparing materials for shipment. Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transporting materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stocking and organizing inventory in designated locations.
- Picking and staging orders accurately.
- Conducting regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper working condition and reporting any defects.
- Adhering to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assisting with inventory counts and stocktaking as required.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment is a plus.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to all guidelines.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
