Advance your career in logistics with our dynamic team as a Shipping & Receiving Associate in Kansas City, Missouri. This role is central to the smooth functioning of our warehouse, managing both inbound and outbound shipments. You will be responsible for accurately processing all incoming goods, verifying quantities against purchase orders, and ensuring proper storage. On the outbound side, you will prepare orders for shipment, ensuring they are correctly packed, labeled, and staged for carriers. A meticulous approach to documentation and inventory control is essential. Maintaining a safe and organized work environment is a top priority, requiring strict adherence to Safety regulations and the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced setting. Experience with shipping software and warehouse management systems is highly desirable. Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and log all incoming shipments.
- Verify packing slips and purchase orders for accuracy.
- Process outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, and labeling orders.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct cycle counts.
- Operate material handling equipment safely (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts if certified).
- Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and safe at all times.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Properly use and maintain required PPE.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners regarding shipments.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in shipping, receiving, or a related warehouse role.
- Ability to perform Lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Familiarity with shipping software and warehouse management systems (WMS) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to Safety standards and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
