We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Columbus, Ohio. This role is crucial for the efficient flow of goods within our warehouse operations. You will be responsible for receiving, identifying, and properly storing all incoming materials. This includes unloading trucks, verifying packing slips against received goods, and accurately documenting any discrepancies. A key part of your day will involve moving materials from receiving areas to designated storage locations using appropriate equipment and ensuring inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and system updates. You will also assist in preparing materials for shipment, ensuring they are correctly identified, packed, and staged for outgoing transport. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining an organized workspace are paramount. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Compliance with all safety regulations and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory to ensure a safe working environment for everyone. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a warehouse setting and a strong understanding of material handling principles. Responsibilities:
- Unload and receive incoming inventory.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Document all inventory movements and discrepancies accurately.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of warehouse spaces.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts.
- Prepare materials for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and staging.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve operational goals.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to perform frequent Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to Safety standards.
