Join our vibrant logistics team in Los Angeles, California, as a Shipping Clerk! We are searching for detail-oriented individuals to manage the outgoing shipment process efficiently and accurately. You will be responsible for preparing, documenting, and dispatching all outgoing orders, ensuring they meet all legal and company requirements. Safety is paramount in our warehouse, and adherence to all Safety protocols and the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is expected. This role may involve some Lifting and requires someone who is organized and can handle multiple tasks effectively. If you have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of shipping procedures, this is an excellent opportunity for you.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Verify outgoing orders for accuracy against shipping documents.
- Package items securely for transport.
- Apply shipping labels and postage.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with shipping carriers.
- Track shipments and provide updates as needed.
- Maintain records of all outgoing shipments.
- Communicate with other departments to resolve shipping discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations.
- Follow all Safety guidelines and use required PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college or vocational training preferred.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related logistics role.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting as needed.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and proper PPE usage.
