We are looking for a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our bustling warehouse operations in Boston, Massachusetts. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for all incoming shipments, playing a critical role in the accuracy and efficiency of our logistics process. Your primary duties will involve inspecting incoming goods, verifying quantities against purchase orders, documenting receipts, and staging items for put-away. This position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and orderly receiving area. We provide all required PPE and emphasize safety protocols in all aspects of our operations. This is a great chance to contribute to a leading logistics provider.
Responsibilities:
- Receive all incoming shipments, verifying contents against shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Inspect goods for damage and report any discrepancies or issues immediately.
- Accurately document all received items in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and label incoming inventory appropriately.
- Stage received goods for efficient put-away by other team members.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving dock area.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments regarding shipments.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE and safe lifting techniques.
- Assist with inventory control tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment preferred.
- Proficiency in using computers and WMS software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles is beneficial.
